Disc vendors are NOT all the same.
- Some of them cut your discs with cheaper materials that result is a higher percentage of "duds".
- Some manufacturers don't keep up their laser specs... which results in discs unplayable on Mac computers.
- Some manufacturers do a high volume of porn. What would happen if your order got mixed up?
- Some manufacturers just don't care about making you happy. Tons can subsequently go wrong.

The resurgence of vinyl is clear. Everybody's asking for it. How cool would it be to have your album on wax (polyvinyl chloride actually, but whatever)? Before you get too excited about vinyl, be aware of these two things:
- Vinyl is EXPENSIVE. The process to make a record is very involved (click for video), so the set-up costs are steep. If you only want a small amount... like 100 records... you will lose money with each sale.
- Make sure you can sell them. While having vinyl may be cool... losing a bunch of money is not.
Basically, you have to order a minimum of 300 units to not lose money with each sale... and it's tough to sell that many.
There is another option. You can have "one-off" records made. If you'd just like a copy for yourself...and are willing to spend around $200 bucks for it...there's a company in Minnesota that can help. The quality and durability isn't as good, but it's vinyl.
